Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers will be in action on Saturday against South Carolina in the annual Palmetto Bowl game. Not only is it a rivalry game, but the winner of this game will still have a chance at potentially making the College Football Playoff.

For the Tigers, they will be going into this game without a key member on the offense, as veteran offensive lineman Trent Howard tore his ACL on Tuesday night.

“Heart breaks for Trent … so committed, great teammate,” Swinney said.  “That kid’s been there when we needed him. Breaks my heart.”

The loss could make things tough for the Tigers, as the injury is a big hit to the depth of the Clemson offensive line. That could play a huge role in this game, as the Gamecocks defensive line is very good.

South Carolina has allowed only 1 team this year to average more than 4 yards per carry (LSU), and the Gamecocks lead the SEC in fewest rushing yards allowed. If they are able to contain the Clemson rushing attack and force Cade Klubnik to become predictable on offense, then edge rushers Kyle Kennard (11.5 sacks) and Dylan Stewart (6.5) could have a monster game.

Kickoff is on Saturday at noon ET and the game will be on ESPN.
