Dabo Swinney had the week off as Clemson was idle — and it sounds like he put his free time to good use.

At his weekly press conference on Tuesday, Swinney said he was finally able to sign up for YouTube TV and get the app loaded onto his phone, iPad and TV so that he could watch multiple games at once.

Humorously, Swinney said it took him awhile to get the technology figured out. But once he did, he was able to spend the day watching numerous games from around the country.

“I’m a big YouTube TV guy now,” Swinney said. “I finally figured out how to get that freakin’ app on my phone. It’s like an act of congress. I mean you got to have like a birth certificates and all kinds of stuff to get some of these things. I don’t know all these codes and ‘who’s your provider?’ … I mean there’s some crazy on there.

“But anyway, I got the YouTube TV and man it was awesome. I had my phone going. I had my iPad going with 4 screens. And I had the TV going. I imagine some of y’all probably did the same thing. Because this is what you do for a living, right? Y’all gotta know what the heck is going on … and I mean we had a lot of teams playing that we’re going to play. And so that’s really what I did all day. I just watched ball all day. And it was awesome.”

Here’s video of Swinney talking through his Saturday:

Because of the way the calendar falls this year, this is actually the first of 2 bye weeks that Clemson will have this season. The Tigers will also be off the weekend of Oct. 26.

This week, Clemson is preparing for a struggling NC State team. Although the Wolfpack are off to a slow start in 2024, they have beaten Clemson in 2 of the past 3 seasons.

Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
