Dabo Swinney takes heat on social media following loss to rival South Carolina
Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers needed some help if they were going to get into the ACC title game. But the one thing they needed to do was beat rival South Carolina at home.
They … did not do that, as LaNorris Sellers and the Gamecocks pulled off a thrilling victory, taking down the Tigers 17-14 to finish the regular season at 9-3. The loss pushed Clemson’s record to 9-3 as well.
That likely means the Tigers are out of the Playoff picture in addition to missing out on the ACC Championship Game. Naturally, fans expected more from the once-proud Clemson program.
As you can see below, social media was ablaze with criticism of Swinney (along with a healthy dose of criticism for Ohio State coach Ryan Day, too):

Dabo Swinney, Garrett Riley, and especially Cade Klubnik need to be investigated for point shaving. I’ve never seen a trio that hellbent on screwing their teams over with knuckleheaded decisions in big game after big game.

What does Clemson’s future hold? We’ll find out on Sunday, but it looks like this will go down as a disappointing season for Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.
SC has had a really fine season, and we should take our hats off to them. SEC proud. Thanks for beating that Dabo jerk. Michigan has played well the last few weeks, despite losing a tough one to Indiana. Always happy to see Ryan Day choke at the end.
