DJ Uiagalelei has reportedly decided to depart Clemson, according to Rivals. The quarterback made the decision after Clemson’s 39-10 victory vs. North Carolina in the ACC title game.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pound junior has passed for 2,521 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions with a QBR of 64.5 this season. Uiagalelei played sparingly vs. North Carolina due to being benched, completing 2 of his 5 passes for 10 yards. Cade Klubnik completed 20 of his 24 passes for 279 yards and a touchdown after replacing Uiagalelei.

Uiagalelei began his career at Clemson in 2020. Uiagalelei had the spotlight on him as he followed in the footsteps of Trevor Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Last season, Uiagalelei went 208-for-374 with 2,246 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Uiagalelei has partnered with Dr. Pepper for commercials in the “Fansville” series, as well as worked with Bojangles through his NIL deals.

Clemson has an 11-2 record and went undefeated in ACC play during the regular season. Clemson will cap off the season with a matchup vs. Tennessee in the Orange Bowl. That contest is set for Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Garden (ESPN).
