Clemson is going to have to put in a lot of preparation if it hopes to stop LSU quarterback Joe Burrow in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

With two weeks to go until the huge matchup, Clemson has decided who will simulate Burrow’s style of play in practice leading up to the game as the Tigers prepare to face him. And it’s somebody who wasn’t on Clemson’s roster this season.

5-star quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has enrolled at Clemson early, and head coach Dabo Swinney told him that he’ll be mimicking Burrow to help Clemson’s defense prepare to face the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback.

“You’re going to make a great Joe Burrow for us on Monday and Tuesday,” Swinney told Uiagalelei, according to Steve Wiltfong of 247sports.

Uiagalelei is the No. 13 recruit in the 2020 class, per the 247sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 1 pro-style quarterback and No. 3 recruit from California. He signed with Clemson during the early signing period on Dec. 18.

Clemson advanced to the CFP National Championship with a 29-23 win over Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl. LSU beat Oklahoma, 63-28, in the Peach Bowl as Burrow accounted for eight total touchdowns, including seven through the air.
