Frank Thomas was the head football coach at the University of Alabama for 15 seasons from 1931-1946 (Alabama did not play a football season in 1943 during World War II), posting a record of 141-33-9 in that time. His teams won the national championship in 1934 and 1941 and four SEC championships in 1933, 1934, 1937 and 1945. He was also named the SEC Coach of the Year in 1945. Thomas was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951, and passed away 1954 at the age of 55.
