James Coley is the wide receivers coach of the Georgia Bulldogs.
Georgia hired Coley when Kirby Smart accepted the Bulldogs’ head coaching job.
Coley brings a long line of experience of coaching the offense. He’s been the offensive coordinator, wide receivers coach and tight ends coach at different times during his career. He even has NFL experience with the Miami Dolphins.
His coaching career has humble beginnings, though, as he coached two Miami-area high schools from 1997-2002. He then worked for Nick Saban at LSU for two seasons before following him to the Dolphins.
Coley coached under Jimbo Fisher at Florida State for five seasons before coaching rival Miami. When Fisher was hired at Texas A&M in 2017, Fisher wanted Coley to be his offensive coordinator; however, Coley elected to stay at Georgia as a position coach.
Coley is known as a good recruiter who has many ties to the Sunshine State, particularly South Florida.
