Mike Locksley is offensive coordinator at the University of Alabama.
He spent the 2017 season as the co-offensive coordinator with Brian Daboll, but following Daboll’s departure back to the NFL in the same role, Nick Saban promoted Locksley to full-time offensive coordinator.
Locksley is known for his recruiting prowess and excellent offensive mind. At Alabama, he’ll have a plethora of talent to mold his offense around. He spent the 2016 season as an offensive analyst at Alabama after serving as interim head coach for Maryland’s final six games of the 2015 season.
Locksley spent two seasons at Florida on the staff of Ron Zook. He served as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator during both 2003 and 2004, en route to Gator bowl wins. In 2004, running back Ciatrick Fason led the SEC in rushing with 105.6 yards per game. Prior coaching stints include stops at Maryland, Towson, Pacific and Army.
He got his start in coaching at his alma-mater Towson State University, and he eventually became at head coach at New Mexico, signing a six-year $750,000 contract. However, Locksley compiled just a 2-26 overall record (7 percent) before being relieved of his duties.
Following his departure from New Mexico, Locksley returned to Maryland under then-head coach Randy Edsall.
