After serving as the program’s interim head coach in 2015, Will Muschamp kept Elliot on staff as the offensive line coach for 2016.
Elliott joined Steve Spurrier’s staff in 2010 and has been the driving force of an offensive line and zone-read overhaul during South Carolina’s most successful five-year period in school history. The Gamecocks have won three bowl games, beaten arch rival Clemson five times and captured an Eastern Division championship since Elliott’s arrival following a 13-year stint at alma-mater Appalachian State.
Rumored to be the head coach-in-waiting at South Carolina, Elliott’s turned down several opportunities elsewhere — including ASU’s head job — to remain with the Gamecocks.
