18 former SEC baseball players make MLB Wild Card Series rosters

It’s October, which means postseason baseball is being played.
The Wild Card round of the MLB playoffs got underway this week. Eighteen players from SEC schools made the 26-man rosters.
By SEC school, LSU leads the way with 4 former players in the Wild Card round. South Carolina has 3 former players, while Auburn, Florida and Mississippi State each have 2. A total of 10 SEC schools are represented in the early best-of-3 series.
The Texas Rangers lead all Wild Card teams with 5 former SEC players on the wildcard roster. The Minnesota Twins and Miami Marlins each have 3 SEC alumni. All 8 teams in the Wild Card round have at least one former SEC standout.
The Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros are on a bye. Their rosters for the Divisional Series round will be announced in the coming days. The Wild Card series will be wrapped up by Thursday. Divisional action begins on Saturday.
