Hot mid-June temperatures always goes well with two things: BBQ and Father’s Day.

The SEC is able to boast about having another postseason with 4 teams featured in the College World Series. For the record, that’s the fifth time that has happened for the conference. With Father’s Day and the CWS dates conflicting, it gave the SEC Network the opportunity to talk to some of their players about certain memories with their dads.

Arkansas senior shortstop Jalen Battles started off the piece talking about his visit to Omaha during the 2019 season as a fan with his dad.

“It was very incredible being here with [dad]. Now, that I’m playing its going to be extra special as well,” said Battles.

Battles’ father, Fred, was in the stands when he was approached about his son playing in his first CWS.

“He said, “Dad, I’m going to play here.’ and I’m like well, I’m going to be here when you play,” said the elder Battles.

Ole Miss’ senior Kevin Graham also took part in the interview. With a smirk on his face, he spoke about how his dad built him a baseball field in their backyard.

“He threw to me everyday,” said Graham. “It’s going to be really special to have him here.
