There’s a new No. 1 in the latest Baseball America poll. Oregon State has taken the top spot after Tennessee’s 2-2 week. Tony Vitello’s Volunteers are the highest-ranked SEC team at No. 2 overall after a 2-2. UT took care of Alabama A&M 14-1 in midweek action before stumbling at Kentucky. UK took the series with wins in the first 2 games. The Vols bounced back on Saturday to avoid a sweep.

Georgia dropped out of the Top 25 while, fittingly, Vanderbilt entered the rankings. The Vandy Boys took 2-of-3 from UGA this past weekend in Athens.

The Commodores’ win over the Bulldogs on Sunday clinched the SEC East for Tennessee. The Vols are 20-4 in conference play with 2 series to go before the SEC Tournament. UGA is in second place in the division at 13-11.

Four other teams join Tennessee and Vanderbilt in the Baseball American Top 25. Arkansas remains No. 5 after winning a big SEC West series from Auburn. Despite losing the series, the Tigers moved up 2 spots to No. 21. Texas A&M also moved up 2 spots to No. 12 after winning a home series over South Carolina. LSU made a big jump from No. 20 to No. 14 after going to Tuscaloosa and taking the series from the Crimson Tide.
