Tennessee returned to the No. 1 spot in the Baseball America Top 25 poll this week after the Vols won a weekend series against Georgia, and clinched the SEC regular season title.

The Vols bounced back from their first series loss of the season last week to capture their eighth SEC series win of the year. Tennessee has now been ranked No. 1 for 7 weeks this season. Also in the SEC, Texas A&M jumped up 8 spots to No. 4 in the country.

Arkansas slipped 2 spots to No. 7, Auburn remained at No. 20 and Vanderbilt bumped up 4 spots to No. 21.

LSU dropped out of the poll after the Tigers were swept at home by Ole Miss.

For Tennessee, the clinch on Friday was the fourth outright SEC regular-season championship in program history, and its first since 1995, with the combination of Tennessee beating Georgia, 9-2, and Vanderbilt beat Arkansas, 9-6 in extra innings.

The Vols have been arguably the most consistent elite team this season.

They swept the first 4 series of conference play, including series on the road at then-No. 1 Ole Miss and then-No. 3 Vanderbilt. When UT finally suffered its first conference setback, a home loss to Alabama 13 games into league play, the Vols responded with a 6-game conference win streak, highlighted by a sweep of Florida in Gainesville,
