The SEC is one of the strongest conferences in college baseball. Going back to 2017, SEC teams have won 5 of the last 6 national championships. The conference is enjoying a streak of four consecutive College World Series winners from 2019-23 (Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and LSU).

Watching the recently concluded 2024 college baseball regular season, it’s likely the SEC will have a strong presence in Omaha again this year. Postseason play is about to begin, with the 2024 SEC Tournament up first.

In the latest odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, the top 4 seeds in the SEC Tournament have the four best odds to win the College World Series.

Tennessee (46-10)

Odds to win College World Series: +600
Odds to win SEC Tournament: +350

The Volunteers spent the final stretch of the season chasing Kentucky. UT managed to catch the Wildcats and claim a piece of the regular-season conference title. Tennessee is the SEC Tournament’s No. 1 seed (thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker) and owns the No. 5 RPI in the nation.

UT will be plenty familiar with its first SEC tournament foe, having played both Florida and Vanderbilt this month.

Tony Vitello’s team took 2-of-3 from Florida in Gainesville, shortening the series finale via the run rule. UT also won 2 in Nashville before dropping the series finale.

Texas A&M (44-11)

CWS: +750
SEC: +360

The Aggies have the nation’s No. 1 RPI and are the No. 4 seed in the SEC Tournament. The conference is stacked with top teams in 2024.

TAMU will play the winner of Ole Miss-Mississippi State on Wednesday.

MSU was the first SEC team to visit College Station in 2024. Texas A&M won the rubber game for its first conference series win of the campaign.

This month, Ole Miss took the first two games from the Aggies in Oxford. The Rebels head to Hoover needing the tournament champion’s automatic bid to make the NCAA Tournament.

Arkansas (43-12)

CWS: +850
SEC: +500

The Razorbacks are the SEC Tournament’s No. 2 seed after winning the SEC West. They hold the No. 2 RPI in the nation.

Arkansas will face the winner of the Alabama-South Carolina game on Wednesday.

In April, the Hogs stumbled on the road at Alabama. Dave Van Horn’s team won the series opener but lost the next two games, dropping the series 2-1.

The next weekend, the Razorbacks got some road redemption, taking the first and third games from South Carolina for a series W.

Kentucky (39-12)

CWS: +850
SEC: +650

The Wildcats are the SEC Tournament’s No. 3 seed, but they’re projected to be the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament by D1Baseball. The oddsmakers, though, don’t see UK as the favorite to win a tournament championship.

Kentucky will next play Wednesday, facing the winner of Georgia-LSU.

UK caught UGA early in the year, and managed a series sweep to open conference play, including a run-rule victory in the series finale. The Bat Cats did not play LSU during the regular season.
