The Week 3 college basketball AP Top 25 poll dropped Monday afternoon, including 6 SEC squads. South Carolina and Auburn also received votes.

Tennessee remains on top of the SEC at No. 7 in the latest ranking, the same spot the Vols were in last week. There will certainly be some movement from the Vols (and every other team in the top 25) after Feast week is over. Tennessee faces off against a stacked Maui Invitational field on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Texas A&M, Kentucky and Alabama sit at No. 12, No. 16 and No.17, respectively. The Aggies have quietly picked up some strong wins over Ohio State and SMU and sit at 4-0 o the year. Alabama is also 4-0 with dominant wins against overmatched competition.

Kentucky has proven something despite its loss to Kansas: The Wildcats are going to run. Kentucky has been forced into smaller lineups and had adapted a run-and-gun type offense that very nearly knocked off N0. 1 Kansas at the Champions Classic.

John Calipari and the Wildcats may have something going in Lexington, folks.

Arkansas hangs on to their top 25 status after a bad loss to UNC Greensboro. The Spartans are no slouch and should be a contender to win the SoCon, but Musselman and Co. have learned that there may still be some growing pains with their transfer-heavy roster.

Mississippi State has started very well without Tolu Smith, sitting at 5-0 with a pair of good wins over Northwestern and Washington State.

Similar to last season, the Bulldogs may reach SEC play with just 1 or 2 losses considering a fairly tame schedule, of which the worst is already out of the way (for the most part.)
