Jack Gohlke banks full-court shot in practice after historic performance vs. Kentucky

Jack Gohlke became a kind of folk hero last night in Pittsburgh.

The former D-II guard proved plenty of people wrong with an otherworldly shooting performance against Kentucky, nailing 10 3-pointers while dropping a season-high 32 points to beat Kentucky in a thriller of a first-round matchup.

And the majority of those shots were well defended by Kentucky. Gohlke was able to fool Reed Sheppard with a few step backs, but many more were off-center daggers with 1 or 2 Wildcats right in his face.

Gohlke and some other Oakland players hit the court ahead of Friday’s round of games for practice. Maybe it’s just a thing with the Pittsburgh rims, but Gohlke took it a step further by banking a full-court shot. Check it out in the video below.

This guy is an enigma:

What’s next for Oakland?

The Golden Grizzlies got past their first challenge of the weekend, but now they have to face a team that’s hotter than perhaps any in the country: NC State.

Those in the Tar Heel State who signed up during North Carolina sports betting‘s launch a few weeks ago might be happy if they kept riding with the Wolfpack, who saw an excellent uptick in production from Mohamed Diarra during the ACC Tournament. NC State was a 10-seed entering the ACC tournament and lost 5 of their 6 final games of the regular season.

Since then, the DJ duo of Burns and Horne have helped NC State rattle off 6 straight wins to win the ACCT and their first NCAAT matchup against Texas Tech.

Simply put, the Grizzlies will have their work cut out for them. Oakland is +6.5 on DraftKings for Saturday’s matchup, which is set to tip at 7:10 p.m. ET.
