Another full weekend of SEC basketball action is in the books, and the standings have been adjusted.

Alabama has the best conference record at 6-1. The Crimson Tide defeated No. 8 Auburn, the previous conference leader, in a midweek thriller. UA followed that up with a lopsided home victory over LSU to stay in sole possession of the top spot.

Tennessee is the SEC’s other team with only one conference loss. The Vols are a game back in the win column, though, at 5-1 after a 75-62 road victory at Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Auburn was the top team in the SEC standings a week ago. Bruce Pearl’s squad, though, dropped in the standings after an 0-2 week. After the loss at Alabama, AU was upset by Mississippi State.

Auburn will drop from No. 8 in the new AP Top 25. The Tigers will be glad to get back to The Jungle and host Vanderbilt. Mizzou and VU are the two SEC squads yet to pick up a win in conference play.

Here are how the conference standings look after another full Saturday slate of SEC hoops:

  • Alabama – 6-1 SEC (14-6 overall)
  • Tennessee – 5-1 (15-4)
  • South Carolina – 5-2 (17-3)
  • Auburn – 5-2 (16-4)
  • Kentucky – 5-2 (15-4)
  • Ole Miss – 4-3 (17-3)
  • Florida – 4-3 (14-6)
  • Georgia – 4-3 (14-6)
  • Mississippi State – 3-4 (14-6)
  • Texas A&M – 3-4 (12-8)
  • LSU – 3-4 (11-9)
  • Arkansas – 1-6 (10-10)
  • Missouri – 0-7 (8-12)
  • Vanderbilt – 0-6 (5-14)

The midweek slate opens with an intriguing matchup. South Carolina has turned plenty of heads with a 17-3 overall mark, including 5-2 in conference contests, but a trip to Rocky Top to face No. 5 Tennessee will be the toughest challenge yet.

Alabama’s status in the top spot will be tested Wednesday when the Crimson Tide travel to Athens to face a Georgia squad determined to bounce back after a heartbreaking loss at Florida. The Gators, meanwhile, travel to Lexington for their second meeting with No. 6 Kentucky.

Next Saturday features the matchup hoops fans have been waiting for. Rick Barnes and the Volunteers will face John Calipari’s Wildcats in Rupp Arena on Saturday night (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
