A couple of years ago, during the North Carolina-Duke rivalry game, Duke star Zion Williamson had his shoe blow out on him.
Who doesn’t remember this insane moment, which caused Zion to miss a bit of time with an injury?

Well, it just happened to an Ohio Bobcats player during Monday night’s game against Creighton in the Round of 32.
As you can see below, Ben Vander Plas had his shoe fall apart on him during a defensive play against the Blue Jays:

Fortunately, he wasn’t injured on the play, but it’s still crazy to see these elite athletes and the strain they put on their footwear.
Everyone had jokes about Nike when Zion’s shoe blew out. But, that appears to be an Adidas shoe, so we’ll see if the tables turn on social media now.
