4 SEC teams crack top 10 in ESPN's 'strength of record' rankings
As we hit the homestretch of the college football regular season the positioning to gain entry into the final four that will make up the College Football Playoff will begin ramp up. From week to week there are two terms that will be heard more often — “strength of record” and “game control”.
Strength of record is based on how difficult the team’s won-loss record is to achieve based on strength of opponent, travel distance, rest time. etc. etc.
Game control is basically how dominant a team has been throughout the course of a game. Are they winning by big leads from start to finish or making a lot of second-half comebacks?
ESPN’s Chris Fallica tweeted out the top 10 teams in both categories according to ESPN and the Football Power Index.
