Regardless of fan allegiance and Week 8 outcomes, this is one of the best things college football fans will see all day.

Casey O’Brien, a walk-on placeholder for Minnesota, took his first snap of the 2019 season on Saturday. O’Brien has beat cancer four times, enduring 14 surgeries, months of chemotherapy and more along the way.

O’Brien delivered a memorable speech at this summer’s B1G Media Days Kickoff Luncheon, telling his incredible story of perseverance:

“I am thankful for every day that we get to spend together as a family — the good ones and the bad ones — because I know that tomorrow is never promised,” O’Brien said to his family during the speech. “All the tests, scans, blood work, chemotherapy, loss of hair and everything else that happens when you fight cancer have been worth it.”
