One ACC head coach revealed his unique postgame ritual following a loss. Fran Brown, in his first year at Syracuse, has the Orange at 6-3 heading into Week 12.
However, Brown’s squad fell in Week 11 to Boston College in a tight game. After that loss, Brown revealed that he does not shower after losses.
“I don’t deserve soap, I don’t deserve to do all that,” explained the coach. “I’m just focused on trying to get back and trying to make sure that our players mentally understand that I let them down.”
Brown also added that he cannot sleep in the same bed as his wife following a loss due to constantly waking up, as well as not showering.
“Can’t sleep in the bed if we lose because I’m not going to shower for that day, I’m just mad,” said Brown. “Winners get washed. Losers, I’m just going to have to wait a little bit.”

Fortunately for Brown and his wife, there have only been 3 losses this season. It’s been an impressive head coaching debut for Brown, who came to Syracuse after coaching defensive backs at Georgia the previous 2 seasons.
Brown’s squad has already clinched bowl eligibility, something they’d only done 2 of the last 5 seasons. The next test for the Orange will be in Week 12 against Cal.
