Clemson is a betting favorite for obvious reasons. Not only have the Tigers been the class of the ACC for more than a decade, they also return a Heisman Trophy candidate in QB Cade Klubnik.

Miami also is a trendy pick. The Hurricanes replaced record-breaking quarterback Cam Ward with Georgia transfer Carson Beck, who twice threw for 3,000 yards passing in the SEC.

The Hurricanes joined the ACC in 2004 but still are looking for their first ACC championship.

Where to Bet on ACC Championship

Saturday Down South has you covered if you’re interested in betting on who win the 2025 ACC Championship. Check out these offers from these sportsbooks.

2024 ACC Champion: Clemson Tigers

Clemson finished second to SMU in the regular season, but the Tigers won the ACC title and earned the league’s automatic College Football Playoff bid by beating the Mustangs 34-31 at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium.

After Kevin Jennings rallied SMU from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit to tie the score with 16 seconds remaining, Adam Randall returned the ensuing kickoff to put Clemson in position for a 56-yard walk-off field goal by kicker Holan Hauser. Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik was the game’s MVP for the second time in 3 years.

2023 ACC Champion: Florida State Seminoles

The 2023 ACC Championship Game was played in prime time on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Florida State built on its undefeated regular season by holding on for a 16-6 win against Louisville.

The Seminoles’ Lawrance Toafili ran for 118 yards and a touchdown and was named the game’s MVP. But the star of the show was FSU’s defense, which compensated for an offense hampered by injuries to starting quarterback Jordan Travis and top backup Tate Rodemaker by recording a season-high 7 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups and a key interception to hold the Cardinals out of the end zone.

Defensive end Braden Fiske had 3 of the sacks.

Despite the win, the College Football Playoff Committee — citing the absence of Travis from the lineup — made the Seminoles the first undefeated power conference champion to be left out of the 4-team championship field.

The ACC Championship Game

The ACC Championship Game was first played in 2005 with Florida State beating conference newcomer Virginia Tech to claim the title at Jacksonville’s EverBank Field. It was the first of 3 championship games played in Jacksonville.

The game moved to Florida’s West Coast and Raymond James Stadium in Tampa in 2008 and 2009 before settling in Charlotte. It has been played at Bank of America every year since, with the exception of a 1-year trip to Orlando’s Camping World Stadium in 2016.

The original format for the game matched the winners of 2 divisions. the Atlantic and the Coastal. In 2023, the divisional model was dropped, allowing the top 2 teams from the regular season to play for the title. The only time a non-ACC team played in the championship game was in 2020, when Notre Dame was allowed to play a conference schedule and compete for the title during the COVID pandemic.

While Florida State and Virginia Tech were the most frequent participants in its early days, the championship game has since become a Clemson Invitational.

Dabo Swinney’s Tigers have made 8 trips to the title game since 2015, taking home the trophy each time. Only Pittsburgh in 2019 and Florida State in 2023 have broken through to interrupt Clemson’s recent dominance.

ACC Championship Odds: How to read them

New to betting? Here’s how you can understand and read the odds you see on this page. If a team has odds listed at -150 to win the ACC Championship, this means that you must bet $150 on this team to win $100. Typically for a championship game, few teams have a negative number for their odds. As only one team in the field can win, most teams will have a plus number listed.

If a team has a plus number, say +800, this means that if you bet $100 on this team to win, you would win $800 as a result. Long shot teams might have significant positive numbers, such as +10000 or more. While you could win a significant amount of money should that team win, of course, this outcome is unlikely (as reflected in the odds).
