Ajani Cornelius, highly-regarded SEC target at OL, announces transfer destination
Ajani Cornelius, one of the top players in the transfer portal, is headed to Oregon. The 6-foot-4, 315-pound offensive lineman announced his decision at a commitment ceremony on Wednesday, spurning offers from Nebraska, Ohio State, and Tennessee.
A White Plains, N.Y. native that played for Archbishop Stepinac High School, Cornelius was a star on the offensive line at FCS Rhode Island, enrolling ahead of the 2020 season. In 2022, he was part of a Rams offense that put up 30.6 points per game, good for 3rd in the Colonial Athletic Association, and ran for the 4th-most yards per game in the conference. He received All-CAA 1st-team honors for his work on the Rams’ offensive line at right tackle.
All told, a total of 29 programs offered Cornelius, a list that he eventually whittled down to 4. Now, he is headed to the FBS ranks where he’ll look to make an immediate impact on the Ducks’ offensive line.
