Bill Belichick, the legendary New England Patriots head coach, commented on the Army-Navy game and its new game location for the 2023 bout.
The game is usually played in Philidelphia, Baltimore or East Rutherford, but is taking a trip north this season to be played in Foxborough at Gilette Stadium, the home of the Patriots. Belichick, whose father was an assistant at Navy, commented on the move and why he’s excited for it.
Belichick noted that the game being played in the New England area as opposed to the mid-Atlantice region of the country gives a great opportunity for people in the region to be able to see a classic college football game.
Here’s his full thoughts:
Bill Belichick before the Army-Navy Game: “It’s such a classic game, that it’s a great opportunity for the people in this region to see it. … I’m a Navy man. … It’s been my life, so I always want them to do well, always want them to be safe and successful.”@USAA |… pic.twitter.com/LrYSbmFbk6

The rivalry matchup has gone back and forth in recent years. Army won last season’s game, 20-17, but the pair have alternated wins since 2018. Navy leads all-time by a slight margin, 62-54-7.
Both the Black Knights and Midshipmen are 5-6 on the season.
