Georgia beat Notre Dame 23-17 in front of a wild environment inside Sanford Stadium.

The loud environment obviously had a big hand in helping Georgia beat the Irish. Notre Dame committed 12 penalties, the most during the Brian Kelly era. Georgia committed just six.

Following the game, Kelly was asked about the environment, but he wouldn’t praise Georgia too much. He talked more about his team.

“We practiced in a louder environment,” Kelly said. “We’re very disappointed we didn’t handle it better. I think we needed to do a better job of silent cadence longer. They handled it so quickly and so easily, but their repetition on the clap, which is our cadence, was so ingrained that when we went to silent cadence, they forgot and went back to the clap.

“I’ll take responsibility for that.”

Georgia fans should also take some responsibility, too. Sanford Stadium, from the light show to the noise, was incredible Saturday night. It was a major reason Georgia beat the Irish.
