Air travel is a nightmare around the country right now, with winter weather causing flight cancelations for many during the busy holiday season.
A trio of Pittsburgh players recently found themselves stranded in Dallas ahead of the Sun Bowl in El Paso. According to Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi, his players happened to bump into another group looking to get to El Paso: UTEP basketball coach Joe Golding and his family.
Golding rented a car, taking his family and the Pitt players to El Paso, a 9-hour drive from Dallas. Golding described it as an educational experience for everyone involved. Narduzzi appreciates that the stranded trio is able to join the rest of the team as the Panthers get ready for their bowl game.
My family and I were blessed to give a ride to Samuel, Jake, and Hudson. They were terrific young men that represented Pitt football in a first class manner. I educated them on West Texas, they educated me on Pitt football and Stack’d burgers! I’m a Pitt football fan now! https://t.co/assHQx1RhL
