College football coach earns bloody forehead after head-butting player with helmet on
Arizona is taking on Arizona State in a season finale rivalry matchup on Saturday. There is no love lost between these in-state rivals and the Wildcats would love nothing more than to ruin the Sun Devils’ chances at a Big 12 title.
Ahead of the matchup, Arizona assistant Chuck Cecil was attempting to get defensive back Owen Goss hyped up. Goss strapped his helmet on and then Cecil headbutted the defender multiple times.
The result was a bloodied forehead for the Arizona assistant coach:

Understandably, Cecil was pumped up for this game. The coach played at Arizona in the 1980s and was a consensus All-American in 1987. Cecil returned an interception for a 105-yard touchdown against Arizona State in 1986 in what is considered one of the greatest football plays in Wildcats’ history.
Cecil rejoined the Wildcats as a coach in 2018. The veteran assistant has held multiple roles during that time and now serves as a senior defensive assistant.
It doesn’t seem like Cecil’s motivation tactics helped the Wildcats much. Through 3 quarters, the Wildcats were in a 35-7 hole to their arch-rivals.
