Awful news to pass along out of Texas.

According to Kelli Smith of The Dallas Morning News, Tony Evans Jr., a Lancaster High senior and Wyoming football signee, was killed in a Dallas shooting.

The report states that Evans and another person were shot early Sunday at a Hawthorn Suites hotel in the Stemmons Corridor, about three miles from Dallas Love Field Airport. Both shooting victims were taken to a hospital where Evans was pronounced dead. The other victim, not identified in the police report, was in stable condition.

Evans signed his National Letter of Intenet with Wyoming in February. Evans was a 3-star recruit. He also had an offer from Northern Colorado.

Per Smith, no one had been taken into custody for the shootings and police have not released details about what led to them.
