We’re early into the college football season, but not too early to make coaching staff changes.
Bill Wagner of The Capital Gazette is reporting that Navy offensive coordinator Ivin Jasper has been dismissed after the Midshipmen’s 23-3 loss to Air Force on Saturday.
Navy finished with just 68 yards of offense and 6 first downs in the loss. The Midshipmen’s triple-option attack is known for its big rushing numbers, but Navy gained just 36 yards on the ground Saturday. The Midshipmen are coming off of a rough 2020 campaign in which they ranked No. 52 in rushing offense, No. 121 in scoring offense and No. 124 in total offense.
Jasper was in his 22nd season on staff, including 20th as quarterbacks coach and 14th as offensive coordinator.
