College football player at Mississippi school from Alabama killed in crash following police chase
A college football player at Mississippi Valley State tragically passed away in a car accident on Friday night. Ryan Quinney, a junior linebacker, was a passenger in a car that was fleeing from the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The driver of the car had to be removed from the vehicle with a Jaws of Life tool and his condition is not currently known. The chase began in Flora before entering into Yazoo City, where the driver lost control. The vehicle reportedly flipped several times after hitting a parked car and a light pole.
The news came just hours before the Delta Devils were set to kick off a game with Jackson State. Players from both teams shared a moment before the Week 11 game.
