At the start of Saturday morning, Week 8 did not look like it would be particularly memorable. Little did we know it would feature on the biggest upsets of the 2018 season.

Purdue’s thumping of No. 2 Ohio State 49-20 will undoubtedly shake up the top 10. Voters will have to decide whether OSU should drop past one-loss “off week” teams such as Texas and Georgia.

A potential one-loss mover is No. 9 Oklahoma. The Sooners beat TCU 52-27 on Saturday, posting double-digit points every quarter. That kind of offense has some media members talking about Lincoln Riley’s squad as a College Football Playoff team again. OU lost to Texas, but after Ohio State’s loss, there are starting to be fewer and fewer unbeaten teams.

Another riser in the polls will be No. 25 Washington State. ESPN’s decision to take “College GameDay” to Pullman, Wash. looked like a wise move after Mike Leach’s squad upset No. 12 Oregon. One would expect voters to make sure WSU is ahead of the Ducks in the next poll.

Two “MSU” teams are likely to bounce from the poll. No. 22 Mississippi State lost at No. 5 LSU while No. 24 Michigan State fell to No. 6 Michigan. In both cases, the third loss would appear to be too much to remain ranked.
