Kansas wants to make sure Lance Leipold is off the market. The 58-year-old head coach has the Jayhawks bowl eligible for the first time since 2008, so its no surprise that his name is being batted around for several job openings.

Leipold will get a bump in his annual salary of $2.75 million and oversee a large-scale overhaul in facilities. He was expected to be a potential candidate for job openings at Nebraksa and Wisconsin among others.

Kansas confirmed the signing on its Twitter account with a nod to EA Sports’ NCAA Football.

Leipold is 6-5 in his second year at Kansas. He spent seven years with Buffalo in the Mid-Anmerican Conference and went 37-33 with two MAC East Division championships. Prior to that Leipold was at Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater for eight seasons with an astonishing 109-6 record with six Division III national championships.
