Terrible news to share from Louisville as the school has announced the father of Cardinal receiver Corey Reed Jr. has died from complications due to the coronavirus.

Corey Reed Sr. was 43-years-old.

Reed was in an Atlanta hospital after being diagnosed positive for the coronavirus.

Louisville issued the following statement from head coach Scott Satterfield following the news:

“My deepest condolences go out to Corey and his entire family. This horrible virus has affected so many people, and it’s even more difficult when it touches someone in the UofL football family. We have been in contact with Corey and his family, and are here to support him during this extremely difficult time.”

Reed is an Atlanta native and signed with Louisville as a member of the program’s 2020 signing class out of Iowa Western Community College.
