ESPN raised a few eyebrows when it recently announced that College GameDay will broadcast from Disney theme park the Magic Kingdom ahead of the Florida vs. Miami Week 0 (Aug. 24) game in Orlando. As you might expect, some Florida and Miami fans are disappointed that the show won’t feature the outside-the-stadium atmosphere of a game between in-state rivals. Meanwhile, many non-Gators/Canes fans had a different concern: Ol’ Crimson

The Washington State flag has made it to 224 GameDays in a row. The Magic Kingdom, however, does not allow flags. Flags are even specifically mentioned as being prohibited (along with banners and sings) in a fan guide which was tweeted by the Camping World Kickoff’s official Twitter account.

Tom Pounds, who started the Ol’ Crimson tradition, spoke to KREM 2’s Brenna Greene. He told Greene that the Ol’ Crimson Booster Club “is making every effort to coordinate a way to wave the flag there.” One would hope that ESPN, which is well-aware of the tradition, finds a way to get The Mouse to make an exception on Aug. 24.
