Florida State reexamining ACC future after Playoff snub, per report

Florida State is reportedly taking another look at its long-term future and standing with the ACC. The latest round of talks comes as a result of the Seminoles getting left out of the College Football Playoff as an undefeated conference champion.
Per ESPN’s Andrea Adelson, Florida State launched “renewed in-depth discussions” about the program’s long-term future with the ACC in recent weeks. Talks around the topic were “reignited” due to the CFP committee’s decision to leave the Seminoles outside of the top 4.
Not a huge surprise here considering, well, everything but I’ve been told by multiple people that Florida State is once again evaluating its long term future. Stay tuned. https://t.co/jngeqfiNmu

Adelson pointed to the CFP snub as “the last straw” for many at FSU and the board of trustees after the last year of voicing displeasure with the ACC. Things are expected “to come to a head in the near future” and will be formally discussed soon.
The report clarifies no board of trustees meeting has been called yet on the matter. It was also clarified that the Seminoles are not leaving the ACC soon, but the program is certainly “weighing its options” in the midst of the shifting landscape of college football.
