Houston coach Dana Holgorsen and 2 assistants honor Mike Leach during Independence Bowl

Houston has joined in on the several teams honoring late Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach, something that is especially personal for Cougars head coach Dana Holgorsen as a member of Leach’s coaching tree.
And 2 of his assistants also joined in with him on paying their respects to the Air Raid guru, as Holgorsen, offensive line coach/run game coordinator Brandon Jones and quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Shannon Dawson all donned the black “State” hoodie sweater that Leach so frequently wore.
The hoodie, which has become something of a trademark of Leach that he likely would have worn in the ReliaQuest Bowl, has been flying off the shelves in Starkville and beyond as people continue to pay tribute to Leach in a number of ways.
Houston and ULL are currently in the second quarter of the Independence Bowl as the Ragin’ Cajuns lead the Cougs, 13-0.
