James Franklin roasted over latest big-game failure in Penn State’s loss to Ohio State

James Franklin entered Week 10 with another shot to get the big-game monkey off his back. He will exit the weekend with the same age-old questions that have accompanied his tenure at Penn State.
On Saturday, the Nittany Lions hosted Ohio State in a top-5 matchup with all eyes on the head coaches. Franklin’s issues are well-documented, and Ryan Day is also juggling plenty of criticism after a loss to Oregon earlier in the season.
In this one, it was Day’s squad taking it to Penn State and shutting down the Nittany Lions offense in a 20-13 victory. The only touchdown Penn State scored on the day came on a pick-6 from the defense, and it leaves Franklin answering the same old questions he has had throughout.
With the loss, Franklin is now 1-10 all-time against Ohio State with the lone win coming during the 2016 season. He is also just 1-9 against top 5 teams overall and falls to 1-7 against top 10 teams at home.
Franklin’s latest flop sent social media firing on all cylinders as the head coach is still in search of a big-game breakthrough. Take a look:
So stupid for thinking this time it would be different for James Franklin. #ShitForBrains

James Franklin is an absolute joke. Any reasonable fan saw this years ago, well before the extension. Why this guy still has a job at one of the most storied football programs in America is beyond me. Alumni, students, fans, America, all deserve better. #FireFranklinForFucksakes

When I see things like Vanderbilt upsetting Auburn I start to worry that we’ve slipped into an alternate reality. Then I see James Franklin’s play calling and I am immediately reminded we’re still stuck in the same dank timeline.

I’m usually a James Franklin supporter but the blame for this loss falls squarely on his shoulders. He got outcoached today and his team was sloppy and not prepared#PennState
