Jim Harbaugh is being linked to 2 open head coaching jobs in the NFL.

Harbaugh is listed along with Sean Payton and Dan Quinn as top targets for the Denver Broncos job in a report by NFL.com insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. Harbaugh is also brought up in the duo’s report on the Indianapolis Colts search. The report stops short of naming Harbaugh a candidate for the Indianapolis job:

(Colts owner Jim) Irsay also has an affinity for Harbaugh, who’s a member of the team’s Ring of Honor as a player, though it’s unclear whether that match would make sense for either side.

Harbaugh went 44-19 in 4 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, reaching Super Bowl XLVII after the 2012 season. He has since been Michigan’s head coach, going 74-52 with a pair of Big Ten titles.

In early 2022, Harbaugh interviewed for the Minnesota Vikings head coaching job. Harbaugh relayed to the Detriot Free Press that he told Michigan the Minnesota interview was a “one-time thing.”

In an ESPN interview this fall, however, Harbaugh said there’s “unfinished business” in his pursuit of a Super Bowl win, but indicated he was content chasing a national title at U-M:

“One of the things that was really kind of driving me is, you know, we were in San Francisco, we got that close to winning the Super Bowl,” Harbaugh told ESPN, per ProFootballTalk. “That’s always been a thing. There’s unfinished business there. But, hey, winning the national championship, [I] could be really happy with that, too. So that’s the goal. That’s the one we’re chasing.”

The college football world will be watching closely to see if Harbaugh pursues another NFL opportunity.
