Kirk Herbstreit has weighed in now that the dust has settled from Week 1. With every game completed and the schedule turning to Week 2, Herbstreit revealed his top-performing teams from Week 1.

To no surprise, Colorado was at the top of the list after a dramatic 45-42 victory in Deion Sanders’ head coaching debut. With all the noise and attention of the offseason, the Buffs stole the national spotlight with a fantastic Week 1.

That performance included an eye-popping game from quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The son of Deion, Shedeur broke Colorado’s single-game passing record with over 500 yards in Week 1.

Shedeur Sanders was not the only story of the game with Travis Hunter posting unreal performances on both sides of the ball. Together, that duo received Pac-12 honors as Herbstreit placed the Buffs at the top of his list of performers.

Duke — fresh off a dominant 28-7 win over then-No. 9 Clemson — received the second spot on Herbstreit’s list. Texas State upset Baylor in Week 1 and received the third spot on Herbstreit’s list.
