Mike Gundy will stay at Oklahoma State after recent reports emerged that he and OSU were in a “standoff” over a restructured deal this past week. Details for Gundy’s restructured contract have not yet been released.

Gundy and Oklahoma State reportedly negotiated throughout the night on Friday. The agreement in principle ends discussions regarding Gundy’s employment that had been present for around a week.

This is via reports from Action Network’s Brett McMurphy and several local Oklahoma State reporters, including KFOR’s Dylan Buckingham.

Gundy and Oklahoma State reportedly held some contention after the Cowboys finished this season 3-9. However, Gundy is one of the best coaches in Oklahoma State history, having finished 18 straight seasons with a winning record before 2024.

The news that Gundy is set to stay in Stillwater comes just a few weeks after he was asked if he had any plans to retire following OK State’s loss to Texas Tech. He denied such intentions.
