The Penn State Nittany Lions debuted at No. 4 in Tuesday night’s College Football Playoff rankings, but that won’t last long.
The undefeated Minnesota Golden Gophers upset Penn State Saturday 31-26 in front of a sold out TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Now, attention turns to Minnesota in the Big Ten, too, along with Ohio State, as the Golden Gophers debuted at No. 17 in Tuesday night’s rankings.
The Nittany Lions still have to play No. 1 Ohio State, but right now, the Buckeyes look like the best team in the country.
Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan torched the Nittany Lions with 339 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win Saturday.
Obviously, with Penn State’s loss, No. 5 Clemson will now jump into the Top 4, assuming it wins Saturday night against N.C. State. Also, No. 6 Georgia will be a beneficiary, too.
Nonetheless, we’ll have a new Top 4 Tuesday night.
