If Texas is going to pull off the upset against top-ranked Alabama on Saturday, it will have to do it without Quinn Ewers.

The Longhorns starting quarterback suffered an apparent shoulder injury in the 2nd quarter and according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel will be unable to play in the 2nd half.

Ewers, a transfer from Ohio State, completed 9 of 12 passes for 134 yards before sustaining the injury and looked good in leading the Texas offense.

The Longhorns and Crimson Tide are ties at 10 in Austin early in the third quarter in a showdown of future SEC foes and two of the most storied programs in college football history.
