Ref gets bowled over by defender during Ohio State-Purdue game

Being a college football referee is a difficult job. Even when you aren’t getting run over by players, you have to make tough calls that anger fans no matter what happens.

But, sometimes you have to deal with that first part, too — getting run over by players who are much bigger than you.

That was the case during Saturday afternoon’s Ohio State-Purdue game. As you can see below, an official who was spotting the ball got plowed over by a Purdue defender who didn’t see him:

You’ve got to keep your head on a swivel when you’re in the middle of a crowd like that.

Hopefully, that ref is OK moving forward and can finish the game.
