Middle Tennessee’s 45-31 victory at Miami on Saturday would rank as one of the biggest upsets of the college football season.

The Blue Raiders were more than 3-touchdown underdogs, but they dominated the game.

And they got paid handsomely to do so, as Middle Tennessee coach Rick Stockstill reminded people this week.

“They averaged 1.6 yards per carry,” Stockstill said in a radio interview per 247Sports. “They gave us $1.5 million, but they got 1.6 yards per carry.”

For context, Stockstill was praising his defense for holding Miami to 68 rushing yards a week after the Hurricanes put up 175 yards on the ground against Texas A&M’s vaunted defense.

Still, it was a great line in light of what transpired in South Florida on Saturday.

The Blue Raiders are 3-1 on the season and play the University of Texas at San Antonio on Friday night.
