Taulia Tagovailoa reactions poured in following worst game of his Maryland career vs. Iowa

Taulia Tagovailoa, the former Alabama quarterback and current Maryland starter, had a night to forget Friday against Iowa.

When Friday night’s game against Iowa started, Tagovailoa had just 1 interception and was on virtually every Heisman Trophy list. However, when it ended, the Terrapins quarterback had 6 picks and a blowout loss to show for it.

Yes, he threw 5 interceptions against Iowa’s defense, and Maryland got trounced 51-14. Tagovailoa finished 16-of-29 for 157 yards, 2 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. In fact, Tagovailoa has now thrown more interceptions than any other FBS quarterback in 2021. Granted, Iowa has one of the nation’s best defenses, but still, Tagovailoa certainly had a rough game.

Maryland committed a whopping 7 turnovers against the Hawkeyes. That’s never a recipe for a win, much less an upset win over a top 5 team.
