Deion Sanders explains why Shedeur Sanders left the field early in Nebraska loss
Deion Sanders is never shy about shedding light on any subject, whether it’s good or bad. So the Colorado head coach had no problem explaining why his son and starting quarterback, Shedeur Sanders, left the field a little early in the Buffaloes’ 28-10 loss at Nebraska on Saturday night.
“I just talked to him; he looked pretty darn good to me,” Deion Sanders said. “We just wanted to make sure we get him checked out. And we have every precaution because now we’re looking forward to next week. This week was over. By the time he got out of the game, it was a wrap. So, we wanted to make sure he was going to be OK, so we wanted to get him checked out.”
Shedeur Sanders was pressured all night by the Cornhuskers defense, which sacked him 5 times and could’ve had a few more, too. Sanders was hurried an additional 9 times, and was battered and bruised by the bitter end.
Sanders finished 23-of-38 passing for 244 yards, with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He had minus-30 yards on 8 carries, a sign of how he was running for his life for a lot of Saturday’s loss.
Sanders and the 1-1 Buffaloes will try to bounce back this Saturday night at Colorado State.
