Deion Sanders has Colorado riding high right now, with a 7-2 record and a No. 18 ranking in Sunday’s latest AP Poll. The Buffaloes have won 3 in a row and 6 of their past 7 games, and all is well right now in Boulder for Coach Prime and his talented roster.

But then there’s the current sad case of one of Sanders’ former NFL teams, the Dallas Cowboys, who are 3-6 and have lost 4 in a row after getting whacked by the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Sanders once starred for the Cowboys during their glorious run in the 1990s, and ESPN’s Rex Ryan said Monday morning on Get Up that he believes Coach Prime has a shot to be the head coach in Dallas, and soon.

“They’ve got to restart, but they got to do something, like how are you going to fix it?” said Ryan. “Deion Sanders may be in play here. They need something. They need to have somebody that has the pride in that damn organization, being a Dallas Cowboy, and the pride you take in it.”

Ryan knows the end is near for head coach Mike McCarthy in Dallas, and he believes Sanders may be the guy to ultimately turn things around there.

“Mike McCarthy is a good football coach, but he’s going to be out the door. That whole thing is going to be blown up,” said Ryan. “Not going to respect Deion Sanders? He’s twice the player you are.”
