Michigan DE Rashan Gary was quick to announce that he would not be playing in the Peach Bowl against Florida. Two of his Wolverine teammates, however, have decided to suit up against the Gators. QB Shea Patterson and DE Chase Winovich have told reporters they’ll play in the Dec. 29 game.

Patterson, a junior, added that he has not decided on whether to enter the NFL Draft. In his first full season of college action, the Ole Miss transfer was 188-of-289 (65.1 completion percentage) passing for 2,364 yards with 21 touchdowns and five interceptions.

In two seasons at Ole Miss, Patterson faced Dan Mullen once. Mullen’s Mississippi State Bulldogs won the Egg Bowl over Patterson and the Rebels 55-20 in 2016. Patterson was 27-of-48 for 320 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in the losing effort.

Winovich, a senior, was recently voted the Bo Schembechler Most Valuable Player Award by his teammates at UM’s annual awards banquet. Winovich has logged 62 total tackles including 14.5 for loss and four sacks on the season. He also has recorded seven quarterback hurries.
