Can't do that against Alabama: Florida mistakes are the talk of social media at half of SEC Championship Game
No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 7 Florida has not disappointed in terms of highlight plays and scoring. The Crimson Tide leads 35-17 at the break but the Gators had opportunities to keep it closer.
Dan Mullen’s squad was unable to capitalize on an interception as it was fumlbed back to Bama. The Gators have predictably struggled to get off the field. Adding insult to injury, penalties have nixed potential stops multiple times.
Florida’s miscues are a popular topic on social media:
So three major mistakes for Florida. Interception but then fumble. Missed TD to wide open Shorter and the third down stop with penalty.
These things cannot happen if they hope to win.

Can't say this isn't going how it was expected.
Florida isn't playing awful, but any tiny mistake is being taken advantage of by Bama. We have no margin for error, and unfortunately the errors keep showing up.

The key thing to not screwing up big games is making a lot of mistakes. And Florida is making big mistakes.

END 1#Alabama 14#Florida 10#Gators are in this game, but at least 3 HUGE mistakes so far.
Fumble the INT
Trask misses wide open WR
Personal FoulBig 3rd Down to begin 2Q coming up for #Gators defense.

Florida helping them make it look easy
An INT only to fumble it back
A third down stop negated by hands to the face
Another third down stop negated by a 12th man on the fieldThose are football mistakes and part of it
But they are the difference in this game

Florida defense is actually getting some things done, but is being their own worst enemy with mental mistakes

Already 2 HUGE missed opportunities from Florida…
That pick turned into a fumble, very next play TD Bama… 14-7
Trask missing that wide open receiver to tie the score at 14-14…
Like I said you have to be PERFECT to beat Bama ??♂️?

Florida's defense shooting itself in the foot?
I wouldn't know a thing about that.— Collin Kennedy (@CKennedy247) December 20, 2020
Florida just makes a lot of bad mistakes on defense
— Blake Griftin (@mkeez) December 20, 2020
Florida’s defense couldn’t afford mistakes, and we’ve had 5-6…and they made us pay for every single one.

Florida makes so many dumb ass mistakes….. Every game!

The difference in this game is the little mistakes on 3rd down. These are the coaching differences that Florida needs to fix to be elite
— Trent Phillips (@Tphilly25) December 20, 2020
Florida has had numerous opportunities to stop Bama, but keeps making mental mistakes.

Florida is gift wrapping this one at the moment…Alabama is way too good for multiple mistakes how many 3rd down blunders can you make before it becomes a route? #SECChampionship

Spot on by Gary: 4 diff times Florida could have forced Bama's offense off the field, and the made mistakes (really 3, cause that hit by Metchie was money).
— Russ Mitchell (@RussMitchellCFB) December 20, 2020
Just think if Florida played mistake free you can say Florida should be winning this game….

Florida is hanging around though. If they hold Bama here and score right after halftime it’s still a game despite 2 huge mistakes
