Amari Cooper offered a ringing endorsement of a Florida staffer in a video message to a 4-star wide receiver prospect the Gators are recruiting.

Cooper recently sent a video message to Miami Northwestern standout Andy Jean. Cooper played at Miami Northwestern before signing at Alabama. Current Florida head coach Billy Napier was UA’s wide receivers coach for the last 2 seasons of Cooper’s Crimson Tide career (2013-14), but the Cleveland Browns wideout talked about a different member of the UF staff in a video message Jean shared.

Cooper encouraged Jean to connect with Tiger Jones, who holds the title of director of speed improvement and skill development on Napier’s staff. Jones helped train Cooper for the NFL Scouting Combine.

“Andy Jean, boy they say you’re doing your thing out there in the West, boy. They say you rocking that deuce, keeping the tradition alive,” Cooper said in a video message Jean posted on social media. “They say you got the route. They say you got the full package.

“Tiger Jones say you got the full package. That’s the Tiger Jones,” Cooper said. “The one who trained me. Got me right mentally, physically, everything for the combine. So, tap in with that boy at the University of Florida. He’s doing his thing; you’re doing your thing. Even if it’s just a quick (conversation), he’s going to get you right mentally. Tap in with that boy.”

This past weekend, Jean named Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Miami and Texas A&M as his top 5 teams. Listed at 6-1, 180 pounds, Jean is rated 4-stars, the No. 38 wide receiver, No. 61 Florida recruit and No. 299 prospect overall in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite. He has 30 scholarship offers.
